Resumo

A pressa, o tempo e a velocidade são “inimigos” da apuração jornalística, tanto na atividade cotidiana de relatar os fatos, quanto na hora de opinar sobre grandes acontecimentos. No mês de junho de 2013, o Brasil se transformou no país das “manifestações de rua” e diante desse cenário marcante os conglomerados midiáticos falharam e tiveram que se retratar ao receber o repúdio dos próprios manifestantes nas ruas e online. As “gafes” cometidas pelos jornalistas nesse período foram viralizadas na internet, principalmente nas redes sociais. Duas questões são acionadas para compreender este momento: a noção de “mea culpa” e a autorreferencialidade. Dessa forma, vamos nos ater a analisar discursivamente dois objetos: as capas do jornal Folha de São Paulo e o comentário do jornalista Arnaldo Jabor no Jornal da Globo.

Abstract

The rush, time and speed are "enemies" of journalistic investigation, both in the everyday activity of reporting the facts, as the time to comment on major events. In June 2013, Brazil became the country of "street manifestations" and in this scenario the media conglomerates failed and had to recant when receiving the repudiation of the protesters themselves on the streets and online. The "gaffes" committed by journalists in this period created buzz on the internet, especially on social networks. Two issues are driven to understand this point: the notion of "mea culpa" and self-referentiality. Therefore, we will stick to discursively analyze two objects: the covers of the newspaper Folha de São Paulo and the comment of the journalist Arnaldo Jabor at the Jornal da Globo.
