Abstract

The mediatization of the Brazilian political scene underwent intense acceleration between 2016 and 2017, marked by the irruption of a succession of events in the sense attributed to them by Quéré (2005). Events that exceeded any possibility of previous calculation and caused ruptures in the habitual behaviors of the subjects. The media constitute the privileged locus of fabrication of what the author calls problematic field instituted by the event that, in its mediatic reverberation, leads to a reorganization of the experience on the part of the subjects affected by it. The problematic field is a new field, from which other events are inscribed and gained meaning. But at the same time that events affect people, they are also affected by them and have their course altered, entangled in intense disputes of meaning (CARVALHO, 2015). The subjects thus operate a counter-effect of events, producing new meanings, through a transaction (QUÉRÉ, 2005). It is precisely this counter-effect that occurred in the context of the circulation, which, according to Fausto Neto, "institutes new forms of interactions between producers and receivers of messages, complicating their roles and organizing new ones confirms new interfaces dynamics" (2010, 55). The purpose of this article is to examine how the recent Brazilian political events have affected and how its counter-effect was given by young people from the periphery of Belém do Pará, asking how they were understood by these young people from the multiple references of their experience. The aim is to elucidate the dislocations caused by the "interface dynamics", in the contemporary apprehension of political events by those of social actors of this age group.
